Worshipful Master's Message for 2009 / 2010
Submitted by DKingNY on Wed, 10/28/2009 - 02:08.The following was delivered by the Worshipful Master, W.·. Kenneth R. Gibson during the officers installation on Monday, May 11th, 2009.
"First of all I'd like to thank all the Brothers of Masters Lodge No. 5 for electing me as Master of the Lodge for the ensuing year. It is your trust in me to take on this responsibility which will give me the strength and wisdom to perform my duty to the best of my ability.
"The main reason I am here as a Mason is my father. My father became a Mason soon after his arthritis forced him to retire early. He mentioned to me many times that the Masons were the best fraternal organization out there. I really had no idea what "the Masons" were, but I had numerous contact with uncles, friends and neighbors who were Masons. My father discussed the "one-day" class with me and, at first, I was hesitant to join. I was never a "fraternity" type of guy. I decided I would join because it would mean a lot to my parents and so I could see what Masonry was all about.

EASTER HOLIDAY GREETINGS FROM THE GRAND MASTER AND A PASSOVER WISH FOR THE CRAFT Spring 2008
Submitted by Announcements on Tue, 03/25/2008 - 18:56.My Brethren, family and friends,
In a few short days, many of us will pause in our daily labors to celebrate
Easter. Passover will be observed in a few weeks. The calendar also marks
the start of Spring. Less than two weeks ago, we changed our clocks, and
welcomed a few more hours of sunlight to the normal course of our days. All
around us are signs of optimism, growth and light. This time of year provides
us with plenty of reasons to maintain our spirit of optimism.
It can be tempting to give in to the cynicism we see and hear all around us.
DDGM Message - LIVING STONE MASONS
Submitted by PKermani on Thu, 12/06/2007 - 14:23.Ancient Temple - 12/4/07
The word associated in many people's minds with the Masons is stone. I
remember visiting the VA Hospital one year during the holidays as part of
Howard Lasker's great effort. I walked into a patient's room to bring him
his gifts and told him the presents were compliments of the Masons. He then
proceeded to regale me with stories about how he too had spent his entire
career as a mason, a stone mason. It took me awhile, but I was finally able
to explain the difference. We had a nice chat, which was the purpose of the
